02 Nov Mini Trifles…sorta…kinda…

Hey Hey!!

Sooo…how was your weekend?? Our’s was a little bit running about like crazy…a little bit let’s-play-and-have-fun…and – thank goodness – managed to squeeze in a little rest and relax. Kind of. As much as we can expect these days at least.

Anyway…I had to pop in here quickly to share this fabulously delicious and so SO pretty dessert we whipped up on Saturday!!

And by we I mean my twelve year old daughter…all by herself…absolutely no help from me…although I was quick to dig my spoon in to taste test so really…all credit pretty much goes to me…..right??!…

She based it on a good old fashioned trifle…though if memory serves me correct…I don’t believe she’s ever had trifle in her life…

First she whipped up a batch of blueberry muffins…then once they were cooked and cooled the layering up began…which I found most impressive I must say…colour and texture were closely observed… ;))

Then in a pretty glass she threw – or more so spooned and placed carefully – it’s her mother who tends to stand in the kitchen throwing ingredients about and hoping for the best…from the bottom of the glass and working her way up …

Sliced muffin

Strawberry jam

Choc chips

Crumbled biscuits

More sliced muffin

Strawberry yoghurt

And finally topped it all off with a healthy layer of oats

I just love this idea…not only because it has turned out so pretty…but it can be replicated in literally a million different ways with whatever ingredients you fancy using at the time!! I’m already dreaming up different concoctions to try…especially healthy versions…

So simple…so tasty…so PUURRRETTTYYY!!!!!

Ok…I’m now off to finish scraping that glass clean…with my spoon…

Have a FAB week folks…

Chat soon..
